South Downs
Way
The South downs Way is an ancient path running from Eastbourne in the East to Winchester in the West. It runs the path created by pre history man centuries ago.
It has some fine views looking any way you want. Looking north to the weald and the North Downs or South to the Sea,( apart from Brighton that is) and the downs them self have wonderful scenery from fields of wheat to natural plants. The South Downs is regarded as a place of natural beauty and one of the best examples of Chalk hills anywhere.
The following pages are a photographic introduction and snapshot of the SDW (South Downs Way) which if you have never seen, should do so. Walking these hills is not to hard. Make sure of good fitting comfortable walking shoes or sports shoes. Keep you eyes open as you never know what you will find.
I do not, unfortunately, have time to walk the lot in one go. I will photograph section as I do them and add them to the pages here. So far I have from Rodmell, near Newhaven, to half way between Washington, behind Worthing, and Amberly. I hope you enjoy it. And I hope you go explore this area of outstanding beauty.
One other note. I have not walked sections in any particular order or direction. I had to walk both ways. Each section will explain which direction I walked
